If you sell pork via retail in Australia (including supermarkets, butchers, farmer’s markets or delis), new Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) laws become mandatory on 1 July 2018.
This means food products packaged from 1 July 2018 must display the new labels.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has published guidance on the new origin labelling rules for food to help businesses comply with the new requirements www.accc.gov.au/publications/country-of-origin-food-labelling
Australian Pork Limited, through the PorkMark program, is offering advice and guidance, along with the point of sales below, for producers and processors who need to use the new labelling system.
We encourage everyone to continue using the PorkMark (or sign up as a licensee) as a guarantee of Australian grown and Australian made.
