Pork Popper Mignon

This recipe could easily be made into a kid’s friendly product or non-chili eaters’ product by removing the Jalapeno.

Ingredients

  • Denuded pork loin steak 4cm thickness (150g per portion)
  • 1 cup (250g) cream cheese
  • ½ tsp (2.5g) ground coriander
  • ¼ tsp (1.4g) garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp (1.4g) onion powder
  • ¼ tsp (1.4g) salt
  • ¼ cup (60g) grated cheese
  • ¼ cup (60g) diced bacon
  • 10 rashers of bacon
  • 2 fresh jalapenos
  • Crushed BBQ chips

Method

  1. 1.
    Once the cream cheese is at room temperature combine in a bowl with spices, grated cheese and bacon pieces and stir through.
  2. 2.
    Slice pork loin into 40mm steaks (just thinner than the width of the bacon).
  3. 3.
    Cut a pocket into the side of the steak.
  4. 4.
    Place cream cheese mixture into piping bag and then add mixture into the steak. Wrap the outside with bacon and secure with a truss. Note: Leave a 10mm gap between the top of the pork loin and the top of the bacon and it will create an area for the chips to sit without falling off
  5. 5.
    Crush BBQ chips and place on top of steak.
  6. 6.
    Slice jalapeno and place on top of chips.

General Information

Consumer Cooking Instructions 



  1. Preheat oven to 160◦C Fan forced or 180◦C conventional.

  2. Cook for 20 – 25 minutes.
